Backup coverage varies. A partial-home system might serve selected lights and outlets while leaving larger appliances outside the backup circuits. Start with what you need to keep running

Before requesting a battery quote, write down your priorities:

• Which appliances and outlets matter most during an outage?
• Is refrigeration enough, or do you also want cooling and other larger loads?
• Would EV charging need to continue, or could it wait?
• Are you planning another EV, a heat pump, or other electrical changes?
• Do you want selected circuits backed up or a broader whole-home design?

This list makes the conversation more useful than starting with a battery count. It also helps an installer explain what a proposed system includes and what would remain unavailable during an outage.
